The Fresno, CA residents in this case got a surprise on Valentine’s Day- but not a very pleasant one. They discovered that their Honda Accord was missing from the carport at their apartment complex.  The entire day wasn’t ruined, because their local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system, recovered their car in just a few minutes after activation.

On February 14th, 2014, the Honda’s owners contacted the Fresno Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Norm Reeves Honda in Huntington Beach, CA, was then automatically activated.

Just a few minutes later, an officer from the Fresno PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer located the Honda near Peach and Olive Avenues in southeast Fresno, where it was parked and unoccupied at the curb.  The undamaged Accord was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owners.
