The San Diego, CA resident in this case was understandably upset to discover that his GMC Yukon had been stolen. Because he had the LoJack® system installed when he purchased his SUV, he didn’t have to feel bad for long. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the vehicle in less than a half hour after activation.

On March 21st, 2014, the GMC’s owner contacted the San Diego Police to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Yukon, which was installed at Mercedes Benz of San Diego, CA.

Within 16 minutes, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the GMC on Oro Vista Road. The Yukon was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
