On a recent Tuesday, a Honda Passport was discovered missing from its owners’ residence in Bakersfield, CA. It was located in an alley by police who used the LoJack® system to pinpoint the SUV’s location, recover the vehicle and arrest the suspected thieves the same day it was stolen.

On February 18th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Bakersfield Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Passport, which was installed at Honda of Thousand Oaks, CA, was then automatically activated.

A while later, a deputy from the Kern County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The deputy located the Honda in an alley in north Bakersfield, where it was parked and occupied by an adult male and female. The occupants were detained and later arrested. The undamaged Passport was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owners.
