The owners of a Honda Accord in Los Angeles, CA, left it parked at home while they went out around 2 pm on a recent Friday afternoon. When they arrived home just after midnight Saturday, the car was gone. Thanks to the LoJack® system that was installed when the vehicle was purchased, local police were able to recover it quickly and safely.

On March 21st, 2014, the Honda’s owners contacted the police to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Honda of Santa Ana, CA.

Just a few minutes later, local police picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Honda, parked and apparently unoccupied. A surveillance was bring set up when the car started moving and then stopped. The suspect was found crouched down in the driver’s seat and was quickly taken into custody. The Accord was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner, who told officers this was the third time this vehicle had been stolen and recovered by police assisted by LoJack.
