When a Los Angeles resident discovered his Cadillac CTS-V around 11:30 p.m. on a recent Tuesday evening, he had high hopes that the LoJack® system he had installed when he bought his car would help police recover it- but he may not have expected it to happen so fast- in just 17 minutes after activation.

On January 23rd, 2014, the Caddy’s owner reported the crime to police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Paradise Chevrolet/Cadillac in Temecula, CA.

A few minutes later, area patrol ground and air officers picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their police vehicles and aircraft.  The flight crew directed the ground officers to the area of Jefferson Blvd and Buckingham Drive where the Cadillac was observed traveling. The ground officers performed a traffic stop and the two occupants were taken into custody. The CTS-V was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
