While the primary purpose of the LoJack® system is to quickly and safely locate stolen vehicles, often there are residual positive effects to LoJack retrievals. In this case, a Nissan Frontier stolen in Oxnard, CA, is recovered by local law enforcement assisted by LoJack the same day it’s stolen, and arrests are made on scene for another offense at the same time.

On March 3rd, 2014, the Nissan’s owner contacted the Oxnard Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Frontier, which was installed at Team Nissan in Oxnard, CA.

A few minutes later, patrol officers from the Oxnard PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Nissan was located in a parking lot with two occupants inside. Both were found in possession of narcotics and taken into custody. The Frontier was soon returned to its thankful owner.
