The Phoenix, AZ resident in this case got a tremendous shock when he returned home after work on a recent Tuesday evening. His home had been burglarized and his GMC Yukon taken. Despite his shock, this victim was able to contact police right away, so that they could activate the LoJack® system in his SUV. The Yukon was recovered in just over a half hour after activation.

On January 21st, 2014, the GMC’s owner contacted Phoenix Police to report the incident. Officers verified the theft and entered the stolen vehicle information into the NCIC police computer. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Hootman GMC Buick in Culver City, CA.

A few minutes later, Phoenix PD officers began picking up a homing signal from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their police vehicles. The officers located the GMC parked and abandoned on South Central Avenue. The Yukon was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
