This case involves a Ford Fusion stolen from its owner’s residence in Sacramento, CA on a recent Thursday morning. Thanks to the excellent work of local police, aided by the LoJack® system installed inside the car, it was recovered in just 14 minutes after activation.

On February 27th, 2014, the Ford’s owner reported the crime to the California Highway Patrol. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the California Stolen Vehicle System and the NCIC national system. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Fusion, which was installed at Future Ford of Sacramento, CA.

A few minutes later, a member of the Sacramento County Auto Theft Task Force began to receive the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer located the Ford parked and unoccupied in a residential area. After a brief surveillance, the Fusion was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
