The LoJack® System Helps Alameda County, California Sheriff’s Office Recover Stolen 2014 Honda Accord in Two Hours, 17 Minutes

When the LoJack® system is installed in a new car, it offers protection not only to its eventual buyer but also to the dealership itself. In this case, a 2014 Honda Accord was discovered missing from a dealer’s lot in Hayward, CA. thanks to local police, assisted by LoJack, the vehicle was recovered in less than 90 minutes after activation.

On March 5th, 2014, the dealership management contacted Hayward Police to report the theft. Officers verified the crime information and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Accord was then automatically activated.

Less than two hours later, Alameda County Sheriff’s deputies received the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They located the Honda in south Oakland where it was parked and abandoned on the street.  The undamaged Accord was retrieved and soon returned to the relieved dealership.
