The owner of a Ford Expedition in Vista, CA, discovered his SUV was missing from his residence on a recent Tuesday evening. The LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his vehicle helped local police recover it in less than 90 minutes after activation.

On February 4th, 2014, the Ford’s owner contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report his vehicle was stolen. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Expedition, which was installed at Longo Toyota in El Monte, CA.

A short while later, deputies from the SDCSD picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The deputies located the Ford traveling in a residential area in Vista.  The deputies made a traffic stop and arrested the driver for possession of stolen property, vehicle theft and possession of paraphernalia.  The undamaged Expedition was retrieved and soon returned to its very happy owner, who told police that this was the second incident within eight months that his vehicle had been stolen and recovered by police assisted by LoJack.
