The San Francisco, CA residents in this case discovered their Lexus RX350 missing on a recent Saturday morning. The LoJack® system they had installed when they purchased the car proved to be a wise investment. With LoJack’s help, local police recovered the RX350 in less than three hours after activation.

On March 1st, 2014, the owner of the Lexus contacted San Francisco Police to report the crime. Officers verified the crime information and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the RX350, which was installed at Lexus Kearny Mesa in San Diego, CA.

A short while later, California Highway Patrol and SFPD officers picked up the homing signal from the stolen vehicle on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Lexus was located, parked and abandoned on the street. The undamaged RX350 was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
