This case involves the owners of a Honda Accord in Los Angeles, CA. When their vehicle is stolen, they are pretty confident that the LoJack® system will help local law enforcement recover it quickly, because their vehicle was stolen three times before and retrieved by police assisted by LoJack. In this case, the Accord was located in less than five hours after activation.

On March 2nd, 2014, the Honda’s owners contacted the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department East LA Station to report that their vehicle was stolen. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Miller Infiniti in Van Nuys, CA, was then automatically activated.

Several hours later, police officers picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They located the Honda in the area of Avenue 56 and Meridian Ave where it was parked and unoccupied. After a brief surveillance, a female entered the vehicle and began driving off.  Officers performed a traffic stop and detained the suspect, who was on felony probation with prior auto thefts.  The Accord was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owners. This incident was the fourth this vehicle had been stolen and recovered by police assisted by LoJack.
