When the Bell Gardens, CA residents in this case discovered their Honda Civic missing one Sunday afternoon, they knew to call the local police to have their vehicle’s LoJack® system activated. Their car had already been stolen and recovered with LoJack once before, and this second activation was also successful. The Civic was located by police in only 38 minutes.

On February 23rd, 2014, the Honda’s owners contacted the Bell Gardens Police to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Miller Honda in Van Nuys, CA.

Within minutes of the activation, a deputy with the LASD East Los Angeles Station picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The deputy observed the Honda traveling on Atlantic Blvd and executed a traffic stop. The driver and passenger were taken into custody. The undamaged Civic was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
