In this case, a 2009 Honda Odyssey is stolen from its owners’ residence in the Mission section of Los Angeles, CA. Thanks to the hard work of local police, with help from the LoJack® system hidden in the minivan, it was recovered in less than a half hour after activation.

On February 18th, 2014, the Honda’s owners contacted police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Odyssey, which was installed at Miller Honda in Van Nuys, CA, was then automatically activated.

Minutes later, local patrol officers picked up the homing signal from the stolen minivan on the LoJack tracking computers that are installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Honda parked on Bradwell Ave. and notified detectives from the Los Angeles County Taskforce for Regional Autotheft Prevention (TRAP). The detectives then set up monitoring as the vehicle started moving and requested patrol officers perform a traffic stop. Two females were taken into custody, and the Odyssey was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owners.
