This case involves a Honda CR-V X that was stolen in Chula Vista, CA on a recent Thursday morning. This victim was truly glad he had decided to have the LoJack® system installed when he purchased his SUV. With LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover his vehicle in just over two and a half hours after activation.

On February 13th, 2014, the Honda’s contacted the Chula Vista Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the CR-V X, which was installed at Long Beach Honda in Long Beach, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, investigators from the San Diego Regional Auto Theft Task Force picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The investigators located the Honda parked and abandoned in a residential area on Crabapple Street in South San Diego. After a brief surveillance, the undamaged CR-V X was retrieved and quickly returned to its grateful owner.
