The LoJack® System Assists San Jose, California Police in Recovery of Stolen Honda Civic in 27 Minutes

There are lots of great ways to spend a Saturday night. Having your vehicle stolen is not one of them.  The San Jose, CA residents in this case were smart. They had a LoJack® system installed in their Honda Civic when they purchased it, so, when their car was discovered missing recently, it took local law enforcement, assisted by LoJack, less than a half hour to recover it.

On February 15th, 2014, the Honda’s owner reported the crime to the San Jose Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at AutoWest Honda in Fremont, CA.

Less than 30 minutes later, San Jose Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers located the Honda in an industrial section of San Jose, where it was parked and abandoned.  The Civic was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
