When a Ford F-150 was stolen in North Hollywood, CA, the LoJack® system installed in the pickup made the situation a little less grave by helping local police not only recover it in less than seven hours after activation, but capture the suspected thief as well.

On January 30th, 2014, the Ford’s owners contacted police in North Hollywood to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the F-150, which was installed at Claremont Ford in Claremont, CA.

A short time later, patrol officers picked up the homing signal from the stolen truck on their LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Ford in the area of Roscoe Blvd and Amboy, where it was stopped in an alley, with the lights off. As police approached the pickup, the driver exited the alley in reverse and sped away. After a short pursuit, a traffic stop was initiated and the suspect was taken into custody. The F-150 was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owners.
