The victim in this case left his 2013 Chevrolet Silverado at his home in Santa Ana, CA, while he went to work, and when he returned that afternoon, his truck was gone. Because this driver wanted to protect his vehicle, he had the LoJack® system installed when he purchased it. With LoJack’s help, it took local law enforcement just over three and a half hours after activation to recover the pickup.

On January 7th, 2014, the Chevy’s owners  contacted the Santa Ana PD to report their vehicle was stolen from the street in front of their residence while they were at work.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Silverado, which was installed at Rydell Chevrolet in Northridge, CA.

A short while later, officers with the Santa Ana PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen truck with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers found the Chevy parked at an auto repair shop in Santa Ana.  A mechanic at the location said the pickup was there when he arrived. A follow-up investigation will be conducted by Santa Ana PD. The Silverado was soon returned to its relieved owner.
