The owner of a 2009 Mercedes Benz 320 left the keys in the car when he parked and entered a store. He didn’t realize his mistake until he exited the shop and found his vehicle gone. The LoJack® system he had installed when he bought his 320 helped local police recover it in less than three hours after activation.

On January 6th, 2014, the owner of the Mercedes contacted police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the 320, which was installed at Mercedes Benz of San Diego, CA.

Within a short while, local officers picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Benz parked and unoccupied on Florence Ave with the keys still in the ignition. The undamaged 320 was soon returned to its grateful owner.
