At 11 a.m. on a Saturday morning, the Pittsburg, CA resident in this case discovered his Chevrolet TrailBlazer missing from his residence, where he had parked it the previous evening. The LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his SUV proved its worth by helping local police recover it in just three and a half hours after activation.

On January 4th, 2014, the Chevy’s owner contacted Pittsburg, CA Police to report the theft. Officers verified the crime information and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the TrailBlazer, which was installed at Auto West Honda in Fremont, CA.

A short while later, Alameda Sheriff’s deputies picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies located the Chevy on the east side of Oakland, where it was parked and abandoned on the street. After a brief surveillance, the TrailBlazer was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
