The owner of an Infiniti FX35 in Escondido, CA, discovered it was stolen late one Wednesday morning. Thanks to the LoJack® system installed when the SUV was purchased, local police were able to recover it later that same day.

On December 4th, 2013, the Infiniti’s owner contacted the Escondido Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the FX35, which was installed at Infiniti of Thousand Oaks, CA.

A short while later, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the Infiniti to Mira Mesa Blvd. The SUV was found in the possession of a suspect, who was immediately arrested. The undamaged FX35 was quickly returned to its very happy owner.
