It was very, very early on a Wednesday morning when this San Diego, CA resident discovered their Nissan Altima missing from their residence. Thanks to the LoJack® system installed when the car was purchased, and the efforts of local law enforcement, the Altima was recovered by lunchtime that same day.

On November 6th, 2013, the Nissan’s owner reported the crime to the San Diego Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Altima, which was installed at San Diego Auto Sales & Leasing in San Diego, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the Oceanside PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the Nissan to a hotel parking lot in Oceanside.  Further investigation resulted in the arrest of one suspect who was registered in the hotel and recovery of items stolen from the vehicle. The owner was very happy when Oceanside Police contacted him to advise that the vehicle was recovered.
