The San Diego, CA owner of a Dodge Charger was shocked on a recent Wednesday afternoon when he discovered his vehicle was missing. This victim’s shock was soon relieved thanks to the LoJack® system he had installed when buying his car. It took less than two hours after activation for his local police, with help from LoJack, to recover the Charger.

On December 18th, 2013, the Dodge’s owner contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Charger, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in Victorville, CA.

A short while later, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the Dodge vehicle to a residential neighborhood near Iowa Street where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged Charger was soon returned to its grateful owner.
