When a Mercedes Benz CLK430 was stolen from a residence in Lemon Grove, CA recently, its owner was glad he made the choice to have the LoJack® system installed when he bought his vehicle. His local police, with LoJack’s help, were able to locate the car in less than three hours after activation.

On December 27th, 2013, the owner of the Mercedes contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report the incident. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This process automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the CLK430, which was installed at M K Chevrolet in Chino, CA.

A short while later, deputies from SDCSD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The deputies tracked the Mercedes to a trailer park in Spring Valley, where they observed a suspect drive away in the vehicle.  A traffic stop was initiated and the suspect was arrested. The CLK430 was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
