The Fresno, CA residents in this case had a tough start to their work week when they discovered their Nissan Altima was missing early one Monday morning. Thanks to their local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system, their day got a lot better when their car was located in just over one hour after activation.

On December 16th, 2013, the owner of this 1997 Nissan Altima contacted the Fresno Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Altima, which was installed at Power Nissan of El Monte, CA.

Just over an hour later, a Fresno area CHP officer picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer located the Nissan traveling in a residential area near Cedar and Dakota Avenues. After a brief pursuit, the driver abruptly pulled over and attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly apprehended and arrested. The Altima was recovered intact and undamaged, and was soon returned to its relieved owner.
