When you think of sports cars, you usually think of them being driven at a high rate of speed. In this case, a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette stolen from a dealer was recovered incredibly fast by local police with the help of the LoJack® system- in just six minutes after activation.

On December 5th, 2013, the dealership contacted the Riverside Sheriff’s Department to report the crime. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Corvette.

A short time later, Riverside Sheriff’s units picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. A Corona PD officer also picked up the homing signal and tracked the Chevy traveling northbound on the I-15 Freeway. After a traffic stop, the male driver was taken into custody, and the undamaged Corvette was swiftly returned to its thankful owner.
