The LoJack® system is well-known for recovering stolen cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles quickly and safely. In some cases, the speed of retrieval is especially impressive, as in this case where a 2010 Toyota Corolla stolen in Oakland, CA, is recovered in just TEN MINUTES after activation.

On December 12th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner left her vehicle running and unlocked outside her home to warm it up. When she exited her residence, the car was gone. The victim immediately reported the crime to Oakland Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Corolla, which was installed at Toyota Walnut Creek in Walnut Creek, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, officers from the Emeryville and Berkeley Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers in their patrol vehicles. Berkeley officers located the Toyota, parked and abandoned near a freeway exit.  The owner of the undamaged Corolla was thrilled to have her stolen car back in her possession.
