The LoJack® system is famous for helping police recover stolen vehicles quickly and safely, but this case is particularly notable because this Mercedes Benz C280 was found in just ONE MINUTE after activation.

It was just after midnight on December 9th, 2013. The California-based victim had a large group of visitors, so he had not noticed that one guest took his car keys and his Mercedes. When he discovered the theft, he immediately contacted the California Highway Patrol. Troopers verified the crime and entered the vehicle information into the California Stolen Vehicle System as well as the NCIC national system. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the C280, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in Redwood City, CA.

Just a minute later, deputies with the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office began to receive the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies located the Mercedes being driven on Holly Ave.  A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was taken into custody. The C280 was recovered and soon returned to its relieved owner.
