The victims in this case not only had their San Bernardino, CA home robbed, but their Hyundai Sonata was stolen as well. There was one hopeful factor in the midst of all this gloom- the Sonata had the LoJack® system installed, so local police were able to track in down in just 15 minutes after activation.

On November 18th, 2013, the victims called the San Bernardino Police Department to report both the burglary and the missing car. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Sonata, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in Rialto, CA.

Just a few minutes later, Rialto PD officer, picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The signal was tracked to Jackson and Acacia, where officers observed the Toyota moving and occupied by three suspects. Following a traffic stop, two adult and one juvenile suspect were taken into custody. During the investigation, the juvenile admitted his involvement in the residential burglary in San Bernardino where he took the keys and the vehicle.  All three were taken into custody, and the Sonata was soon returned to its relieved owners.
