When a Honda Civic EX was stolen in Riverside, CA recently, the local police got assistance from the LoJack® system installed in the vehicle. With LoJack’s help, the Civic was recovered in just nine minutes after activation.

On November 1st, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the Riverside Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and they entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Rock Honda in Fontana, CA, was then automatically activated.

Within minutes, flight officers flying Redlands PD Airplane RH-1 and San Bernardino PD ground units picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on their onboard LoJack tracking computers. The flight officers spotted the Honda traveling northbound on Meridian Avenue near Foothill Boulevard and notified ground units, who then performed a vehicle stop. The driver was in possession of drug paraphernalia.  The Civic was soon returned to its rightful owner. This was the second incident where this vehicle had been taken and then recovered by police assisted by LoJack.
