The Riverside, CA residents in this case discovered their Honda Accord was missing late one Tuesday morning. Their local police, assisted by the LoJack® system covertly installed inside the car, were able to retrieve it in just two hours after activation.

On November 26th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the Riverside Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Honda of Pasadena, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, Riverside PD Flight Officers flying Helicopter RPD-1 picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on their onboard LoJack tracking computer. The flight crew alerted ground units that located the Honda being driven by a male suspect. After a traffic stop, the driver attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended. The undamaged Accord was swiftly returned to its relieved owner.
