When the owner of the stolen GMC Jimmy in this case discovered his SUV missing from his apartment complex in Woodland, CA, one Saturday evening, he immediately called local police, knowing that only they could activate his vehicle’s LoJack® system. He may not have expected the recovery to be so fast- the Jimmy was found in only seven minutes after activation.

On November 16th, 2013, the GMC’s owner reported the theft to the Woodland Police Department. The vehicle information was entered into the California Stolen Vehicle System as well as the NCIC national system. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Jimmy, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in Concord, CA.

Just a few minutes later, officers with the Vacaville Police Department began to receive the homing signal from the stolen SUV. The officer tracked and located the GMC being driven near Havasu and Folsom streets. He conducted a traffic stop and took the driver into custody. The undamaged Jimmy was soon returned to its relieved owner.
