When the Richmond, CA resident in this case discovered his Mercury Milan missing from his home one recent Saturday night, it’s likely that he was glad he chose to have the LoJack® system installed when purchasing his car, and even more glad when his local police, assisted by LoJack, were able to recover his vehicle in less than two hours after activation.

On November 24th, 2013, the Mercury’s owner contacted the Richmond Police to report the incident. Officers verified the crime information and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Milan, which was installed at Future Ford of Roseville, CA.

A short while later, San Bruno PD officers picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack Tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Mercury to a side street in San Bruno where they found it parked and abandoned. The undamaged Milan was soon returned to its grateful owner.
