On a recent Thursday afternoon, the Porterville, CA resident in this case noticed his Nissan Maxima missing from this home. The victim called police right away, knowing that only law enforcement could activate the LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his car. With LoJack’s help, the vehicle was recovered in less than two hours after activation.

On November 7th, 2013, the Nissan’s owner contacted the Porterville Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Maxima, which was installed at Santa Monica Nissan in Santa Monica, CA.

A short time later, a deputy from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The deputy tracked the Nissan to the vicinity of Avenue 95 and Highway 65 in Terra Bella, where he saw the car traveling. After a short pursuit, the car was stopped with the help of backup units. The driver was taken into custody and the undamaged Maxima was soon returned to its thankful owners.
