The Long Beach, CA resident in this case didn’t arrive home from work until after 10:30 pm on a Friday night, and then discovered his Nissan Altima had been stolen while he was working. Fortunately, the LoJack® system that was installed when he bought his car doesn’t take nights or weekends off. With LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover the Altima in less than five hours after activation.

On November 8th, 2013, the Nissan’s owner contacted the Long Beach Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Altima, which was installed at Performance Nissan in Duarte, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, deputies with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department- Century Station picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The deputies tracked the vehicle to a residence in Compton.  The deputies went to the back of the residence and found the Nissan under a tarp.  A male at the home claimed he was storing the vehicle for a friend, however he did not know the friend’s name nor how to contact him.  The suspect was taken into custody and the Altima was quickly returned to its thankful owner.
