Imagine these Gardena, CA residents’ shock when they discovered their 2013 Chevrolet Silverado missing very early on a Monday morning. The LoJack® system the owners had installed when buying their truck just 10 months ago proved to be a wise purchase, because, with LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered their vehicle that same day.

On November 18th, 2013, the Chevy’s owners contacted Gardena Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Silverado, which was installed at Martin Chevrolet in Torrance, CA.

A short while later, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office- Compton Station picked up the homing signal and. with the assistance of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Aero Bureau, tracked and located the vehicle parked and abandoned in Compton. After a short surveillance, the Silverado was recovered and soon returned to its happy owner
