The San Bernardino resident in this case discovered his Honda Accord was missing just before midnight on a Saturday. The LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his car proved its worth by helping local law enforcement recover his vehicle in less than an hour after activation.

On November 9th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department to report the crime.  Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Norm Reeves Honda Superstore in vehicle.

A very short time later, officers from numerous departments began picking up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicles. Some California Highway Patrol (CHP) units, with assist from the El Monte PD Air-44, located the Honda traveling on the 605 Freeway. The CHPs initiated a traffic stop and took the female driver into custody. The undamaged Accord was soon returned to its relieved owner.
