The California based owner of the Nissan Sentra in this case noticed the vehicle missing early one Tuesday evening and immediately called local police. Thanks to the LoJack® system installed when it was purchased, the car was recovered in just over a half hour after activation.

On October 15th, 2013, the Nissan’s owner contacted the Kern County Sheriff’s Department to report the crime. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Sentra, which was installed at Riverside Metro Auto Group in Riverside, CA.

A short while later, a deputy from the KCSD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The deputy tracked the Nissan to a residential area in west Bakersfield, where it found it curbside, parked and unoccupied. The Sentra was soon returned to its very thankful owner.
