When the Oakland, CA resident in this case woke up one Wednesday morning, he was startled when his Chrysler Aspen was not where he had parked it the previous evening. Thanks to the LoJack® system he had installed when buying his SUV, local police were able to recover it in just over a half hour after activation.

On November 6th, 2013, the Chrysler’s owner contacted Oakland Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Aspen, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in San Leandro, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, Oakland officers picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Chrysler to an intersection in west Oakland where it was stopped in traffic. Officers initiated a traffic stop and arrested the driver. The undamaged Aspen was quickly returned to its thankful owner.
