The owner of a 2012 Toyota Corolla discovered his vehicle missing one Thursday morning in Lakewood, CA. The LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his car 16 months before proved to be a good investment. With LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover the Corolla in less than 2 and a half hours after activation.

On September 19th, 2013, the Toyota’s contacted the LosAngeles County Sheriff’s Lakewood Station to report their vehicle stolen.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Corolla, which was installed at Power Toyota in Cerritos, CA.

A short while later, deputies with the LASD Lakewood station picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The deputies located the Toyota traveling eastbound on 205th Street and began tracking it.  They finally found the vehicle parked on Arline Ave., and the driver running down the street. The suspect was quickly captured and the Corolla was returned to its relieved owner.
