Just after lunch on a Saturday, employees of a construction company noticed that a 2013 Multiquip Generator/Welder was missing from their job site in San Jose, CA. The company’s owners were smart enough to protect this valuable piece of construction equipment with the LoJack® system, so local law enforcement was able to recover it that same day.

On October 19th, 2013, the company contacted San Jose Police to report the theft. Officers verified the crime information and entered the generator information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the equipment.

A short while later, Sunnyvale PD officers picked up the homing signals from the stolen generator on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the Multiquip to a side street, where it was abandoned. The undamaged machine, valued at $18,000, was soon returned to its relieved owner.
