At the end of a long workday, the last thing anyone needs is to exit and find your vehicle gone. This happened in Sacramento, CA to the owner of a Honda Civic EX. This victim discovered that the LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his car works 24/7/365, so local police were able to recover his car, with help from LoJack, in just a half hour after activation.

On October 20th, 2013, the Honda’s owner reported the theft to the Sacramento Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the California Stolen Vehicle System and the NCIC national system. The LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Mel Rapton Honda in Sacramento, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, both the Sacramento PD and the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department began to receive the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers then tracked and located the Honda parked and abandoned at 20th and J streets. The recovered Civic was soon returned to its grateful owner.
