When the owners of a Jaguar S-Type discovered it missing from their Bakersfield, CA home one Tuesday evening, they were glad that they had the LoJack® system installed when they bought their car. The local police were glad as well, because, with LoJack’s help, they were able to recover the stolen vehicle in just over one hour after activation.

On September 24th, 2013, the Jaguar’s owner contacted the Bakersfield Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the S-Type, which was installed at Galpin Jaguar in Van Nuys, CA.

A  short while later, a deputy from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The deputy tracked the vehicle to a residential area near Tuolumne and C Street in west Fresno, where the Jaguar was parked and abandoned at the curb near an apartment complex. The undamaged S-Type was soon returned to its relieved owner.
