This case involves a Ford F-350 commercial truck that was stolen in San Diego, CA on a Monday morning. The vehicle was recovered in less than two and half hours thanks to the excellent work of local police assisted by the LoJack® system.

On September 30th, 2013, the Ford’s driver contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that the truck was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Ford.

A short while later, officers from the SDPD picked up the homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Ford to a residential area near Elderberry Road and Densburry Street in San Diego, where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged F-350 was soon returned to its relieved operator.
