Police depend on the LoJack® system to help them swiftly retrieve stolen cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles. In this case, the recovery took only seven minutes after activation.

On September 10th, 2013, the owner of a BMW 325i awoke to find that their vehicle had been stolen sometime during the night from in front of their home. The theft was reported to the Fresno Police Department. Officers entered the vehicle information into the California Stolen Vehicle System as well as the NCIC national system. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the 325i, which was installed at BMW of San Diego, CA.

A very short time later, an officer with the Fresno PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer tracked the BMW to West Ashlan Avenue in northwest Fresno, where it was parked and abandoned in an apartment complex lot. The 325i was recovered intact and undamaged and was soon returned to its grateful owner.
