When this Los Angeles, CA resident’s Land Rover LR2 was stolen from his home, he called local law enforcement right away, knowing that they could activate the LoJack® system hidden in his SUV and recover it quickly. What the owner didn’t know was how fast the police would locate his vehicle- in only four minutes after activation.

On September 28th, 2013, the Land Rover’s owner contacted the Los Angeles Police Department- Northeast Division to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Land Rover, which was installed at Hornburg Jaguar in Santa Monica, CA, was then automatically activated.

Just a few minutes later, patrol officers from the Pasadena PD picked up the homing signal from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol units. The officers tracked the stolen vehicle to the third level of the Gold Line parking structure, where they saw a female suspect exit the vehicle with the keys in her hand. She was taken into custody and found to be in possession of stolen checks and credit cards as well as the LR2. The Land Rover was soon returned to its very relieved owner.
