Assisting police in recovering stolen vehicles is the purpose of the LoJack® system. When an especially fast retrieval happens, we are pretty proud, as in this case where a stolen 2011 Ford F-350 commercial truck is recovered in just 10 minutes after activation.

On September 7th, 2013, the Ford’s owner contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBCSD) in Victorville to report the crime. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the truck.

A very short time later, an SBCSD Deputy assigned to the Hesperia Station picked up the homing signal from the Ford on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. He located the truck in Victorville, traveling in the area of Industrial Boulevard and Jasmine. The deputy conducted a traffic stop, and the driver was arrested. The undamaged F-350 was soon returned to its relieved owner.
