When the Los Angeles residents in this case purchased their Toyota Camry, they chose to have the LoJack® system installed. This turned out to be a smart move since, when their car was stolen one Friday morning, their local police were able to recover it in just over an hour after activation.

On September 6th, 2013 the Toyota’s owners contacted their local police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later, officers with the Los Angeles Port Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Camry to Broad Ave. in Wilmington, where they found two individuals in possession of the car. Both suspects were arrested and the Toyota was soon returned to its relieved owners.
