San Diego, California Police Recover Stolen Hyundai Genesis Assisted by the LoJack® System

Waking up to find your vehicle stolen is pretty depressing. This San Diego, CA resident had the LoJack® system installed when he bought his 2010 Hyundai Genesis, so police were able to recover it for him just after lunchtime that same day.
On September 11th, 2013, the Hyundai’s owner contacted the San Diego Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Hyundai, which was installed at Heller Ford Mitsubishi Suzuki in Escondido, CA, was then automatically activated.
A short while later, SDPD officers picked up the homing signals from the Genesis on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the car to a residential neighborhood in the area of Talmadge Park Road in San Diego, where it was found parked and abandoned. The owner was very happy to have his undamaged Hyundai returned to him.
