When the Marysville, CA owner of a Dodge Ram 1500 discovered it missing from his residence one Tuesday morning, his first call was to his local police. This was a smart move, since only the police are able to activate the LoJack® system he had installed in his truck. Thanks to his local law enforcement and LoJack, the Ram was recovered in a little over an hour after activation.

After the truck’s owner reported the crime to the Marysville Police, officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the California Stolen Vehicle System as well as the national system, NCIC. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Glendale Dodge in Glendale, CA.

A short while later, an officer with the Citrus Heights PD received the homing signal from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer requested assistance from the Yuba/Sutter CHP Area officers. The Dodge was located parked and abandoned on a residential street in Olivehurst. The vehicle was recovered intact with no damage and was soon returned to its relieved owner.
